Scruitineering: Before the car is allowed to compete in the event the car is checked to determine if it breaches any rules. One requirement is that the driver is able to egress from the car in an emergency within 5 seconds.
Tilt Test: Another part of scruitineering is that the car must not leak under lateral loading. The car is tilted to 60 degrees and checked.
Design Event: The technical design of the car is assessed by the judges.
Acceleration: A test of the acceleration ability of the car in a 75 metre sprint.
